Storm warnings in effect for Twin Cities area

Excerpt:

An Xcel spokeswoman said power is out for about 12,000 homes in a line between Plymouth and Maple Grove.

Comments:

1. I work downtown on the 14th floor of 100 Washington. We were advised to move away from the West windows (and of course the immediate, human nature reaction was to stand at the windows and look out West at the storm). Ultimately we moved to an inbound area and hung out.
   
2. I called my neighbor who is one house to the South of us, and she is OK. She did go to her basement to wait out the storm.
