Aided by an overhead crane, heavy chains and a bit of patience, rescue workers succeeded Wednesday night in freeing a worker pinned by 4,000 pounds of sheet steel in a Plymouth warehouse, authorities said.
The victim, airlifted from the scene at Olympic Steel, 625 Xenium Lane N., to North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale, was conscious and alert throughout the rescue, which began about 6 p.m., Plymouth Fire Capt. Tom Evenson said.
