Too cold for ice!

Canceled: Fire and Ice Festival

The annual Plymouth Fire and Ice Festival slated for Sat., Feb. 3 at Parkers Lake, Co. Rd. 6 and Niagara Ln. in Plymouth, has been cancelled due to a forecast of below-zero temperatures for Saturday.
The festival typically brings together people on the frozen lake for a day of outdoor activities, including ice fishing, ice skating, dog sled demos and fireworks. With temperatures and wind chills expected to plunge, event organizers determined it best to cancel the festival this year.

"It is disappointing to cancel this event, but the point of the Fire and Ice Festival is to bring the community together for a day of fun. With very cold temperatures, made worse by the wind chill factor, it won't be safe for people to be out for prolonged times. As a result, we felt it prudent to cancel the event for this year," said Plymouth Recreation Supervisor Event Karol Klint Greupner
