Norman passed away Sunday, December 30, 2012 at his home. He was born in Orangeville Township on April 2, 1929. Norman is the son of Russell and Nina (Hayward) Johncock, and he served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Norman and his family owned and operated Country Maid Bakery for over 32 years. He was a member of Prairie Edge Christian Reformed Church, and in his spare time he enjoyed golf, bowling, wood working, and spending winters in Florida. On April 20, 1950 he married Donna Nieboer, who survives. Also surviving are their children, N. Lee (Barbara) Johncock of Portage, Sharon (John) Weaver of Scotts, Wayne (Kathy) Johncock of Schoolcraft, and Warren (Teresa) Johncock of Three Rivers; 11 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; brothers, Keith (Betty) Johncock of Belleview, MI and Glenn Johncock (deceased). Funeral services will be held on Thursday, at 11:00 AM at Prairie Edge Christian Reformed Church, 9316 Oakland Dr., with Pastor Philip Kok, officiating. Family interment will take place at Prairieville Cemetery.
Comment: My Mother was one of 15 1st cousins. (She is # 3 in age and the oldest survivor). Norman was her first cousin. My relationship to him = First cousins once removed. I remember him well. He and my Dad were close.
