Stinky Water
Minneapolis is attacking water odor
Excerpt:
Gayle Bonneville was standing at her bathroom sink a couple of weeks ago in northeast Minneapolis, getting ready to wash her face, when she smelled it again: A "swampy, musky, fishy" scent coming from the faucet.
Why do I keep getting whiffs of that in spring? she wondered.
Not to worry, city officials said: It's an annual effect of snow-melt carrying extra bits of decomposing leaves into the Mississippi River, where the city gets its water.
Comment: I'm glad that Plymouth gets its water from wells!
