Microsoft offers computer users choice of browsers

From today, people running Microsoft's Windows operating system will be presented with a screen asking them to choose which web browser they would like to use. Computer users will be able to choose between 12 different browsers, ranging from well-known browsers such as Internet Explorer, Firefox and Opera, to some more obscure software, such as K-meleon and Sleipnir.
Comment: Many I've never heard of! Click article for image. Please don't use IE6! Obsolete.
Microsoft should just remove IE altogether. I'd like to see a home user figure out how to download and install a browser without Internet Explorer pre-installed.
ReplyDeleteYet, Microsoft doesn't have a monopoly in browser share. So maybe this is more about a European software developer wanting a little help from their government for their own product's inability to compete.
