Mankato trip

We took off yesterday and drove to Mankato in a cold driving rain. Rachel received a scholarship from GMAC and there was a scholarship reception at 4:30.

We arrived late at Rachel's apartment (about 4:35) and then did not make it to the reception until 4:55. The presentation and program did not begin until 5 so it wasn't a loss but the hor'devours were pretty much depleted.

After the presentation and program we went out to dinner at Neighbor's ... probably the only good restaurant in Mankato ... then drove home.

I hate driving in the rain ... and driving in the rain at night is even worse (at least it was not freezing rain!). Home at 9:05.

We had Scripture reading with Roger (Acts 19).

13-17 "Then some of the itinerant Jewish exorcists took it upon themselves to call the name of the Lord Jesus over those who had evil spirits, saying, “We exorcise you by the Jesus whom Paul preaches.” Also there were seven sons of Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, who did so. And the evil spirit answered and said, “Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are you?” Then the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, overpowered them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded. 17 This became known both to all Jews and Greeks dwelling in Ephesus; and fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified"

  1. There is a Famous Daves in Mankato, so there are two good restaurants in Mankato!
