Thessalonica: The model church

1. Acts 17 ... a rocky start! Acts 17:11 "These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so". The Bereans contrasted with the Thessalonians!
   
2. I Thess 1:3, "remembering without ceasing your work of faith, labor of love, and patience of hope". A faith that works, a love that labors, a hope that is patient!
   
3. 1:6, "And you became followers of us and of the Lord". True disciples!
   
4. 1:7, "examples to all". The model church!
   
5. 1:8, "from you the word of the Lord has sounded forth, not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place. Your faith toward God has gone out, so that we do not need to say anything". Evangelistic!
   
6. 1:9, "you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God". True repentance. True worship and service!
   
7. 1:10, "and to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, even Jesus who delivers us from the wrath to come." Looking for the pre-tribulation rapture of Christ!
