Sunday

Eliot K. met us at 4th Baptist for Church this morning.

Dr Roy Beacham (Central Seminary) was the AM speaker (Dr Doug McLachlan is in Florida for three weeks ... this is the first of three Sundays with his being gone). The text of the morning was I Peter 3:18, "For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit,"

Dr Beacham mentioned the occurances of "suffering" in 1 Peter: Biblegateway search = Suffering in 1 Peter

We took Eliot out to The Big Bowl afterwards.

Kathee is getting the house set up for Thanksgiving. I am watching the Vikes losing to Miami.

My Alma Mater (University of Cincinnati) beat Rutgers last night in a surprise upset: Cincy ends Rutgers' perfect season.

Kathee and I continued our reading in Revelation tonight. I found this interesting:

Jerusalem's Old City at risk in earthquake

Compare:

Revelation 11:13, "In the same hour there was a great earthquake, and a tenth of the city fell. In the earthquake seven thousand people were killed, and the rest were afraid and gave glory to the God of heaven."

The week ahead:

  1. Mom arrives tomorrow
  2. K and I work Monday and Tuesday only
  3. Roger to arrive back from Chicago tomorrow night
  4. Rachel arrives home Tuesday night
