Predictions: General election themes

Bad Idea

Excerpt:

McCain’s going to outchange the candidate of change? Please… What next? McCainiacs screaming “Yes we can” at the top of their lungs? John McCain… HOPE???

My predictions for themes (we will hear these until we are ready to hurl!):

Obama positive:

1. Change
   
2. Hope
   
3. Help the middle class
   
4. Some protectionism (anti-NAFTA) stuff
   
5. Save the environment (the global warming thing) (for Dems this means higher taxes as does most of their proposals
   
6. Universal health care
   

Obama negative (against McCain):

1. 100 years in Iraq
   
2. Something that highlights the fact that he looks ancient
   
3. 3rd term of Bush (there will be a lot of commercials showing McCain and Bush hugging)
   
4. McCain is the "inside the beltway" status quo
   

McCain positive:

1. Any photos of McCain with Reagan
   
2. National defense and security
   
3. His heroic service for our country
   
4. No new taxes ... continuing the Bush tax cuts, etc
   

McCain negative (against Obama):

1. Obama's inexperience
   
2. Obama "too radical for America"
   

How about some interaction on this? What are your predictions?

VP thoughts: I think an Obama / Hillary ticket would be unbeatable for the Dems (but I don't think Michelle O would approve Hillary as a running mate for hubby). I also think an Obama / Edwards ticket would be very tough. A McCain / Huckabee ticket would be strong as would a McCain / Romney ticket.
