The Passover Instituted

Kathee and I read Exodus 11 & 12 tonight and here are brief comments:

  1. Exodus 11:7, "that you may know that the LORD does make a difference between the Egyptians and Israel."
  2. Exodus 12:11-13, "... It is the LORD’s Passover. ‘For I will pass through the land of Egypt on that night, and will strike all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the LORD. Now the blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you are. And when I see the blood, I will pass over you; and the plague shall not be on you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt"

Of course, our Savior, was crucified on Passover and in 1 Corinthians 5:7 the Scriptures teach "Therefore purge out the old leaven, that you may be a new lump, since you truly are unleavened. For indeed Christ, our Passover, was sacrificed for us"

For the one who is saved, the Lord makes a difference: salvation, redemption, forgiveness, adoption, eternal life!

Work:

  1. We are wrapping up UAT (User Acceptance Testing) on our latest workstation upgrade job
  2. Kathee is busy writing reviews for her subordinates.

Robertson Predicts 'Mass Killing': He says: "I have a relatively good track record," ... "Sometimes I miss". Comment: The standard for a true prophet the in the Old Testament was a perfect track record! That tells me something about Pat R!

Robertson predicts 'mass killing' by terrorists in U.S. this year

Excerpt: Don Wilkey, pastor at First Baptist Church in Onalaska, Texas, has followed Robertson's activities for years. He has written book reviews and essays about the evangelist, one of which called Robertson's book New World Order a "catch-all for conspiracy theories."

Compare Deuteronomy 18:20-22, "But the prophet who presumes to speak a word in My name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or who speaks in the name of other gods, that prophet shall die.’ And if you say in your heart, ‘How shall we know the word which the LORD has not spoken?’— when a prophet speaks in the name of the LORD, if the thing does not happen or come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously; you shall not be afraid of him.

The People commanded to search the Scriptures.

The Scriptures are not only addressed to the people, but the people were called upon to study them, and to teach them unto their children. It was one of the most frequently recurring injunctions to parents under the old dispensation, to teach the Law unto their children, that they again might teach it unto theirs. The "holy oracles" were committed to the people, to be taught by the people; and taught immediately out of the Scriptures, that the truth might be retained in its purity. Thus our Lord commanded the people to search the Scriptures, saying, "They are they which testify of me." (John v. 39.) He assumed that they were able to understand what the Old Testament said of the Messiah ... (Hodge reading (v 1 p 185))
