Opinions about Jesus
- “He is a good man.” (John 7:12)
- “No, he deceives the people.” (John 7:12)
- "[He is] demon-possessed” (John 7:20)
- “Surely this man is the Prophet.” (John 7:40)
- “He is the Messiah.” (John 7:41)
- “No one ever spoke the way this man does” (John 7:46)
- “Are you from Galilee, too? Look into it, and you will find that a prophet does not come out of Galilee.” (John 7:52)
- "many in the crowd believed in him" (John 7:31)
Who do you say Jesus is? Jesus asked this of his followers:
"When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, 'Who do people say the Son of Man is?' They replied, 'Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.' 'But what about you?' he asked. 'Who do you say I am?' Simon Peter answered, 'You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.'” (Matthew 16:13-16)
Today is decision day for the United States. With all the media hype and social interaction on Facebook and Twitter, we of course think this election is important. Not to minimize the election and the need to vote - I did! - the decision one makes in the voting booth is not the most important decision in life. Amos speaks of a future "Valley of Decision". I don't know when that day will be but trusting Christ is the most important decision anyone can make!
