Debunking the Canard about Trump's "Muslim Registry"

In Context: Donald Trump's comments on a database of American Muslims

Excerpt:

After going through all of his comments from this past weekend, it seems that Trump definitely wants a database of Syrian refugees, and he hasn’t ruled out the possibility of a database for all Muslims -- though he isn’t actively calling for the latter. And we’ll warn you now that many of Trump’s comments strike us as contradictory or confusing.

What Trump Has Said About a Muslim Registry
Excerpt:

In an interview with NBC News last November, Trump was asked: "is there going to be a database that tracks the Muslims here in this country?" The remarks were made after a rally, and there was speculation by some on social media afterwards that Trump did not hear the entirety of the question, because he refers to the border in his answer. "There should be a lot of systems, beyond database, we should have a lot of systems, and today you can do it," Trump responds. "But right now we have to have a border, we have to have strength, we have to have a wall. And we cannot let what’s happening to this country happen."
a source familiar with the incoming administration told CNN there will be a database and it'll be similar to the National Security Entry-Exit Registration System (NSEERS).

Excerpt:

NSEERS, sometimes referred to as "Special Registration," was a program for registering non-citizen visa holders -- such as students, workers and tourists -- that President George W. Bush's administration enacted on September 10, 2002. The program had three parts. First, it required non-citizens to register when they entered the US -- a process that included fingerprinting, photo taking and interrogation. Second, it mandated that these people, as well as others already in the US, register and regularly check in with immigration officials. Third, it kept track of those leaving the country to make sure that temporary guests did not remain illegally. Violators were arrested, fined and even deported. All males 16 years of age or older from 25 countries were forced to register. Although no religious groups were explicitly targeted, all but one was a Muslim-majority country. The countries included: Afghanistan, Algeria, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Egypt, Eritrea, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates, Yemen. The sole exception: North Korea. Trump promised during his campaign to start a program that will register and track people from certain high-risk countries, such as Iran, Syria and Afghanistan.

Comment: In sum: No! But some repeat the lie long enough that they believe it themselves!

  1. JP, I know that a lot of people discredit the creation story these days as found in Genesis and think it's just a myth or an allegory, so I don't really know where you and your readers (me and that Bubba guy) stand on this. (Well, I know where I stand. I actually do believe in the creation story.) In the words of the late, great, Rodney King, "Can't we all just get along?" According to Genesis, we were created by God at the start and if you go back far enough, we are related.

That brings me to another question, related to creation. For hundreds of years the King James Bible said that God created the heavens and the earth. This is what most translations say. Why has the King James all of a sudden changed its position and now just states in Genesis 1:1 "heaven" instead of "heavens"?

  2. JP, also related to Genesis, why have "sun" and "moon" been edited out of Genesis 1: 14-19 in the King James? I really don't understand why they are all of a sudden making these interesting edits.

  3. I'll try to address this in another post about the KJV. But for this post, it's off-topic.

I don't have much expertise on KJV related questions and issues.

  4. Young earth for me. Regarding Genesis 1:1, it's not just the AV/KJV. Among those I can read, the Vulgate, Geneva Bible, and Luther-translation all use a singular form, although the Hebrew "Schamayim" is plural. Blame Jerome maybe? Whatever it is, it's an old way of doing things that doesn't appear to be repeated in 19th/20th century translations.

One thought regarding the thought of a "Muslim registry" is that it could bring a lot of potentially dangerous people into the church as false converts in the same way that Constantine's edicts brought pagans into the church. No, thank you.

  5. Just looked at the Hebrew, and the KJV is more literal in verse 16 to say "greater light" and "lesser light" instead of "sun" and "moon." Difference between literal and idiomatic translation, and I'm seeing a bunch of translations do this. Certainly the NASB and NKJV do so.

  6. JP, thank you, and Mr. Bubba, good to see you again! Ok, so we can address this in another post. In one sense this does tie in in the sense that Christians and Muslims are from way back in Genesis. So I wasn't totally off the topic.

Here's what I'm driving at specifically. What is with the Mandela Effect and all the weird changes we are seeing in the last few weeks and months? For example, "of the world" is now missing from Queen's "We Are The Champions." But even more interesting, the Bible is changing, especially the King James Version, due to this effect. For example, we all KNOW the KJV said "heavens" and earth in Genesis 1:1, not "heaven." I think for anyone to deny this is happening is burying their head in the sand. Also, the literal words "sun" and "moon" were in the first chapter of Genesis before and now they are not. You probably think I'm nuts and mentally ill, but if you do a little bit of research into this topic you'll see it is legitimate. Most people think this has something to do with CERN and that great deception such as this is a result.

Another example, why has the word "matrix" replaced "womb" in so many passages of the King James Bible? No, our memories are not faulty, but something weird and evil is taking place here.

"Gay" clothing was also never in the new testament until just recently.

  7. JP, I seem to remember you saying somewhere that you had an accident a few year ago and as a result have had some physical disabilities since then. I'm sure that has made you more aware of people with disabilities and that you are familiar with that famous Superman actor who had that horse accident and then died a few years later. We all know his name was Christopher ReeveS. No, you are not crazy, his was NOT Christopher Reeve.

As more people become aware of this situation I'm sure this is going to cause lots of questions. It's good to be aware of what is happening so we can be prepared to answer people.

Did you watch the news this morning? I bet you thought you were watching "The Today Show," and you were if you were on that channel. The show is now just known as "Today" without any explanation that the title changed. This is another example.

  8. This is a weird dilemma. And yes, we all know it's "dilemma" and not "dilemma." Spelling it "dilemma" is just stupid and reminds me of my cousin Emma.

The web is messing with me now.

  10. "Dilemma" is NOT correct. We all know this. This is just another example.

  11. JP, you and I both know I'm correct that "sun, moon and stars" were in Genesis 1 before, around Genesis 1:16, 17. See this site: http://www.reformation.edu/scripture-science-stott/geo/pages/15-earth-center.htm This is the weirdest thing I have ever seen. I think Christians need to be encouraged, not dismayed by this. The Bible warns that great deception would come.

  12. I'll try to bring this thread back on topic by asking this, is the Muslim Koran being affected by this? I do not think so.

  13. JP, here's another link for you. LOL, it's ironic that we use a site that is against God's word to prove that something really weird is happening: http://www.noanswersingenesis.org.au/www_of_creationism_craters.htm Go to that page and you will see "memory residual" of the sun, moon and stars.

  14. JP, it looks like I've bothered the site and you have turned off comments and won't list them until they are approved. Fair enough. I hope I haven't shaken your world too much. I'll drop the subject. By the way I am a Christian and I am not trying to be blasphemous in all. This is not a subject to be light about or joke about in the least. I know this is a weird topic, the weirdest I've ever come across in my life. I'll drop it.

  15. Anon, for reference, here's an image from the original 1611 printing.

I am wondering if you are actually going off another translation that was used at churches you have attended. Neither the original King James, nor the modern revisions (there are about five if I remember correctly), say what you say.

Plus, if (as my research indicates) the ancient manuscripts of the Hebrew use "greater light" and such, it doesn't matter to me what the KJV says. It is the autographs and ancient manuscripts that matter to the First Fundamental and Sola Scriptura, not the translations.
