Should BJU Apologize?

Ignore, Defend, Forget, or Apologize?

Answer: They should apologize!

  1. Jim, while certainly BJU most likely has some apologies to make for past racism, I'm disinclined to take at face value the claims of an anonymous blogger who provides documents that look suspiciously like they were prepared on a word processor--in 1970.

  2. They should apologize, but they won't because it is beneath them to EVER admit that they EVER did anything wrong... Blind loyalty to an institution is just that, blind. Very sad.

  4. Yes, I believe BJU needs to officially and formally renounce the institution's past racist (yes, I said it) policies. They should follow the example of the Southern Baptist Church, which (finally!) in 1995 adopted a resolution [ http://www.sbc.net/resolutions/amResolution.asp?ID=899 ] denouncing their instances of historical racism & early defense of slavery.

Stephen Jones needs to step-up and do what is Biblically RIGHT, even if it means stepping on the toes of his father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
