Interested in Trolleys?

Twin Cities by Trolley: The Streetcar Era in Minneapolis and St. Paul

A friend of Roger's loaned this to him. I only had an opportunity to look it over for 30 minutes (enough to flip through the pages and look at the maps and pictures and then read the epilogue).

The startling conclusion from the epilogue: government bureaucracy killed the trolleys by holding rates so low for so long (a nickle a ride for over 35 years!) that the owners could not get a decent return on their capital investment.

I'm interested in the book for historical reasons. I ordered 2 copies. One for me and one for a relative for Christmas.
