Fun with Spam: from SylvieButteris

Hi dear! I am for a decent man.

As for me, I am a young Russian girl
Do you like Russian women?

They are not just beautiful and smart, but very tolerant too.
Russian women value family and try to be with their husbands as much as possible.

It's time to get to know each other!
See you on marriage agency. Cheerio!

Comment: I love Russian women! (I told my wife about this ... she said "go for it!")

  1. What if I want my wife to be with me as little as possible?

  2. You know, I often wonder how many people actually follow those links hoping to find 'true love'...
I love the part about them being very tolerant...tolerant of what?

  3. Way back when I was in grad school (before Connie came along), I was corresponding via email with a missionary friend who was in Russia at the time. A professor of mine saw the email address and the feminine name, and said "you're so lucky....Russian women are beautiful."

So I had to bring the good professor down twice by noting that not only was this person not a love interest, but she was also American. :^)

  4. I traveled with some others in my church on a short missions trip to Brazil in 1999. During my time there a girl at the church we were helping took quite an interest in me - she sent a couple letters the following year, but that was it. Until about 4 YEARS LATER, when I got a phone call - from this girl, still in Brazil, calling via a translator provided by the phone company. I don't know how much she spent on that phone call, but I wonder to this day how the translator kept a straight face as this girl pronounced her "never-ending, God-provided" love for me, while I repeatedly dodged her questions about whether I loved her or not.

Talking with the missionary we supported several months later, I confirmed that she was probably looking for an easy way into the US.

  5. Despite how movies make it and the common perception, it actually is quite difficult to get into the US via marriage. One of my friends a few years ago got married in Canada and the night of their wedding they were travelling into the US and she got held up due to documentation, so they spent the first month of their marriage apart.

Another friend spent about a year arranging for his fiance, at the time, to come over when they got married.

  6. I've got friends who corroborate Daniel's point. As he went down to INS offices in Denver yet again, I teased him that he'd probably get to jump ahead in line if he only would grow a beard and start quoting verses from the Koran.
