Micro V-12
Mini V12 RC car engine produces not-mini power
Excerpt:
The lilliputian engine displaces just 87-cubic centimeters, but produces between 6 and 8 horsepower running on a mixture of methanol and nitro methane.
Comment: Something totally different. Very cool.
87ccs is, if I do my math right, about six to seven cubic inches, and the "rule of thumb" for muscle car engines in the 1960s was 1hp/ci--this is about what Chrysler's "Hemi" does today. In comparison, overhead cam racing engines routinely get 2-3hp/ci.
ReplyDeleteCool, but not particularly powerful for its size, especially when you consider it's running nitro.
