Six reasons show Fiat Chrysler making play for GM

The companies are taking it seriously. GM and FCA have hired financial advisers to evaluate a potential deal, according to a report from Reuters on Wednesday. GM has hired Goldman Sachs, and FCA has hired UBS, according to the report.

My take on what it could look like:

• Jeep .... a valuable brand and GM does not have a Jeep like vehicle
• Minivans: ... GM does not have a Minivan
• Cars: The Chrysler 300 could be an intermediate brand between Buick and Cadillac. The Chrysler 200? I don't see a future for it but reviews against the Malibu are favorable.
• Trucks? FCA has some commercial light delivery vans that I don't think GM competes against
