I suffered two injuries playing pool today:
- The tip of my thumb was at the edge of the corner pocket. Brother drilled one home and it bounced off my nail. Ouch! Still stinging 2 hours later. A bruise under the nail is developing
- I bounced the cue ball off the table and it landed on the top of my foot. I was in my stocking feet. Double ouch!
- Plus I lost to Brother at 9 ball! Triple ouch!
Nine Ball
Comment: Most who know me know that I am terrible at pool. I scratch, miss cue, and make all kinds of other Billiards mistakes. My Brother is most often my competitor. We almost always play 9 Ball and he almost always (9 times out of ten) beats me. Sometimes we only play pool once a month. This weekend we played pool twice and I beat him twice.
I beat him 5 games to zero on Saturday and 5 games to 1 last night. Here's the other amazing thing: In both sets of games, I had a game where I won by sinking the 9 ball on the break. Sinking the 9 ball on the break is just luck. It is also a rare occurrence.
