Vista flaws

This in the New York Times

"computer security researchers and hackers have begun to find potentially serious flaws in the system that was released to corporate customers late last month"

Flaws Are Detected in Microsoft’s Vista

This is of interest to me because I am the release manager for 57,000 workstations and we hope to have 15,000 on Vista by mid year.

Thinking of a new PC?

  1. If your preference is Windows, you should be safe with Vista. But be prepared to have enough hardware to support Vista: 2 gigabytes of real memory, dual-core processor, 128 MB video adapter.
  2. Consider MAC OS-X (which is UNIX based and is very solid
  3. Consider hanging on to older hardware and installing LINUX such as Ubuntu.
