Sunday ... very cold

It has been very cold today ... at the time of church this morning it was 13 degrees.

Pastor Levy preached this morning from Hebrews 12:1,2 and 4th celebrated the Lord's Table

Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Points (as I recall them):

  1. Run the race - "let us run with endurance the race that is set before us"
  2. Lay aide: "let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us"
  3. Our Hero: "looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith"

This afternoon, we drove out to the new location of Bible Baptist Church Elk River. It's been a long time since we have been out that way and there is a lot of new residential construction.

Kathee and I continued in our reading of Genesis tonight (chapters 13 & 14)

Genesis 13:14-17, "And the LORD said to Abram, after Lot had separated from him: “Lift your eyes now and look from the place where you are—northward, southward, eastward, and westward; for all the land which you see I give to you and your descendants[b] forever. And I will make your descendants as the dust of the earth; so that if a man could number the dust of the earth, then your descendants also could be numbered. Arise, walk in the land through its length and its width, for I give it to you.” "
